The avocado, grapefruit Smoothie

Avocado is mother nature’s ‘butter’.  It’s delicious, rich and creamy texture adds all sorts of yumminess to a dish.  It is high in calorie density, so if weight loss in your goal, then limit the amount of avocado you consume; but on the flip side, the fats in avocado help promote satiety, which may then promote a reduction in calorie intake.  Test and measure what’s true for you.

1 small banana – frozen
½ medium ruby grapefruit – peeled, and seeds removed
¼ medium ripe avocado – peeled
1 cup fresh kale or spinach, or mixture of both
2.5 cm fresh ginger
½ – 1 cup water

Place all ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth.
